Burkholder & Son Construction began its small business in 1973 as a father and son partnership focusing on pouring concrete basements in Lanark, IL and proudly served the local area in a forty mile radius. Burkholder & Son Construction slowly grew to five employees and added a precast division consisting of septic tanks and Smith Cattle-guards.
In 1988 Roger purchased is father’s share of the business. Roger has added more products and services to the company that included precast steps, drains, feed-bunks and waterproofing basements. The company has grown to about fifteen employees. In 2005 the company incorporated and changed its name to Burkholder & Son, Inc. The company has continued to add products and services which included conveying concrete and gravel, small excavation, and a franchised retaining wall system, Redi-Rock to serve clients and customers needs.
The company has changed over the years from a labor intensive job to a more machine assisted job. Roger’s two oldest sons are working alongside him within the business. Jameson a foreman/ machine operator on the construction side and Weston heads the operations, sales, and office work of the Redi-Rock retaining wall system.
